The OBRA rules do not state anything about needing to keep your feet in
the
pedals. It would be possible for the individual race to have a rule
requiring this, which would be a good idea. I suppose it could be
considered dangerous under rule 13.2. My personal experience with this
is
that any gain made by taking your feet out of the pedals going downhill
will
be eaten up by the time spent trying to get your feet back into the
rapidly
spinning pedals at the bottom of the hill. This might be different with
an
extended downhill although the idea of coasting along a long down hill
with
pedals flailing, my feet on nothing and all the weight being borne on my
saddle does not seem all that attractive. YMMV

At last year's event, I heard that a certain "PD" removed his feet
from the pedals and "coasted" downhill...?
