While I'll agree the comments were inappropriate (from what I've heard 2nd hand). I'm not sure how a boycott to KATU is a solution. My wife is a reporter at KATU and has reported on a number of bike issues which have been fair and good for the community.

Dear customers of Entercom:

I am sorry to say that due to the crass and irresponsible comment of hosts on "the Buzz" I will be urging everyone I know to boycott Safeway and KATU. Hosts engaged in an attack on bicyclists this morning. Bicyclists face insensitive motorist every day in Portland and knuckle heads opining that bicycles have no place on the roads do not help. This is not about being PC or being "not funny". This is about contributing to ignorance and sentiment that endangers peoples lives.

Portland was just voted the most bicycle friendly city in America. Metro is spending two million on a campaign to reduce traffic congestion. Obesity is a growing problem in Oregon but bicycle ridership is up 300% in the past 5 years. And here among all this good news some bad public citizens spouting their hateful remarks.

Please remind Entercom that they have a responsibility that goes with the use of public airways. An on the Air apology and some equal time spend on encouraging pubic awareness about cycling by Entercom and the hosts of the Buzz would go a long way to repairing the damage.

Sincerely- Jake Bigham, Portland
