Re: Local radio station slams bikes for being on

Actually, I disagree.

Sometimes we forget that vehicles can kill us. While it may be

humorous to some, it sends the wrong message to individuals who

believe that "anything without a motor doesn't belong on the road."

Overreaction? I don't believe so given the potential end results of

clashes between cyclists and motorists.

Are we actually censoring? No. We are letting them know that there

is a community of cyclists who were very troubled by the comments.

I in fact, do wake up to Nelson and Terry. I do appreciate their

humor but sometimes they go too far. When they do, they need to be

called on it.

I e-mailed Jeff again and asked him the potential of PSA addressing

how cyclists and motorists can co-exist.

I think we overreacted this time.

George,

Sometimes going 'Thermo-Nuclear' gets quick results.

Nobody wants to incite riots and there are plenty of groups with

smaller

hackles than the Damp/Moldy/Cold/Tired Cyclists of OBRA who cringe

every

time a SUV passes by with some angry-at-life yahoo hanging out the

window. Next time maybe they'll think twice before openning that

blather

hole.
