Too bad you didn't get it complete just a little sooner.. I'm sure a
karaoke machine could have been arranged for the banquet!

I wrote a new song that's a spoof on the Sheryl Crow song, "Leaving Las Vegas", I'm calling it, "Leaving Lance Armstrong." Thanks all for the random contributions.

Lance rides real fast
on any given street
and I used to care a lot.
I spent the good part of my summer
in a team car
but at least I'm not smoking pot.
Oh, I'm pulling all my hair out
and he's driving me insane.
They race in all type of weather
snow, wind, and rain.
I pour some mineral water
and go back to sleep
why did I get in so deep?

(Chorus)
I'm leaving Lance Armstrong
Ego so big
Trek bikes, spandex,
where'd I park my rig?
Leaving Lance Armstrong
Leaving for good, for good
I'm leaving for good
I'm leaving for good

Used to be I would fly to Europe for 3 weeks,
watch Lance Armstrong
race up some mountain peaks.
But since I broke the Blackberry.
Lance just can't be far enough away.
So I'm leaving Lance Armstrong today.

[CHORUS]

I'm sleeping in the middle of an altitude tent
waiting for his stage to begin.
But no Kid, no Eric, no Lance
Can keep me happy now,
make me want to sing again.

[CHORUS]

I used to hang out with Jagger and the like,
then I started chasing this guy on a racing bike.
I'm a pro musician and I know how to rehearse,
but this guy rides up mountains for practice
in sleet and snow and worse.

[CHORUS]

I'm leaving Lance Armstrong.
And I won't be back,
no I won't be back
Damned yellow bands.
