Good question. Have been wondering myself. I know there are LOTS of studly mid 30's, but...
from my perspective...when I race with MYAGE I can actually RACE. When I race with the 1/2's I cannot...I can only hope to hang. Racing is fun...killing yourself just to get 30th is not...my guess is others feel the same way. However...I FULLY respect the promoter's job and perogative and I don't race (Road anyway) that often...but the 2 times I did last yr (PIR and Banana Belt) were in fun, full 35-39 fields!

That's a good question, too. Everything else being equal, 39 yr olds can not, on average, stay up with 20 yr olds. (even though it often seems like they can???) If significant percentages of riders try to do this, those individuals are leading us toward unpleasant imbalances.

This year that wont be a problem at any of the BB as the Masters field
starts at 40+ and the isn't a 30-39 field for the masters. Why have all the
promoters gone to a 40+ field and are leaving out those who want to race
Masters 30-39. Just a question????
