From my "armchair" it seemed he sat up and dropped the handlebars and they
fell into the front wheel tossing him off. He may have had a slim chance for
a better landing if he had held on to the bar, kept the power on, and kept
weight on the front wheel by not sitting up abruptly.
I've seen half a bar break in a crit that was brought in to the pit with a
wheels down landing.
Yeah, if that was me, I could have rode it out and then out powered that
French kid.
