Bring your Bike Friday, Cycleops Trainer, and 20" Cyclops Trainer Extension or equivalent. I don't think it's possible to train in Paris without being killed. Seriously.

You will have to drive outside the city to train on the road, and driving is very dangerous, too. People walk long distances in Paris or ride the bus.

I rode just outside of Paris in 1996. There were some pretty good areas there that weren't too bad once you get out of the city limits. Most of the people were pretty good to the cyclist. If you make it down south a bit to Besacon, there are some great areas to ride down there. I did several races in that area area.

should I just go to the gym and ride an excercycle?

Merci bien,
