Golden Event Planning
Hi Ellen...
No way...thanks so much for the heads-up! I will have to get a hold of them
Speaking of bike rides, we are already planning a To Klick n' Bick n' Back
Century Ride. (From Goldendale to Klickitat, back to Goldendale, then to
Bickleton, and back to Goldendale). The actual mileage will be 114.92
OR participants can go to "Klick n' Back" for 43.48 miles (Goldendale to
Klickitat and back to Goldendale). OR to "Bick n' Back" for 71.44 miles,
which would be a Metric Century (Goldendale to Bickleton and back to
Goldendale).
September 15th, 16th, and 17th we are hosting our Goldendale "Festival of
Wheels" and would certainly like to find a club to sponsor the ride above.
Our local Search and Rescue will host the ride...if a bike club would like
to come ride with us. If we can't do it this year...we will certainly shoot
for it next year. We will have SEVERAL different "wheel" events going on
during the "Festival of Wheels" week-end and would certainly like to include
a Century Bike Ride. Something to ponder...

Hi there!
Did you know that the Portland Wheelmen Touring Club(PWTC) leads a ride
out of Lyle through Goldendale every September. It's 72 miles and there
are at least two routes that I know. One is straight up Rte 14 through
Goldendale starting at Lyle. THe other goes up a hill right out of
Lyle. The routes can certainly be shortened by starting/ending
differently thought that would need to be checked. For specifics, go to
PWTC.com and you'll have a way to ask someone more directly.
