Just to weigh in: as a 30 year old looking on, I have the upmost respect for
the "REAL" masters. By "real" masters I mean those in their 40s and beyond.
I think it is awesome that you guys and gals are out racing your bikes when
life has so many other responsibilities, obligations, and distractions!
In fact, I owe getting started in cycling to REAL masters riders. To them I
will be forever indebted.
For the rest of you late thirty-somethings who insist on the need to have
35+ "masters" categories and actually race in them: suck it up, pick on
people your own age (or younger) and keep the masters status reserved for
age graded categories at Nationals and masters Worlds.
I can hardly believe that all season long there are "masters" 35, 36, 37...
laying waste to those in their late forties. Have some respect for elders
and be glad guys like Shannon and Jonathon have some. Otherwise you would
all be fighting for tenth place anyway!
To the REAL masters: cheers and keep up the good work.
To the wanna be "masters": do your time and remember grand tours and
classics have been won in the late thirties.
Oh, did anyone catch the headline: Vervecken is world champ?! (35 racing

You know Ron I been thinking about the racing the PIR short track series. So
when I checked out the catetogoies and the results I see you racing geared
and ss then kicking butt on the youngsters. Perhaps you should be the
exception to any new categories. You know like your "Grandfathered" into
racing against the 40 somethings.
