I can give you two quotes from Franz... In my first ever criterium,
in Sherwood Oregon, when I asked him why he'd hooked me into a curb
coming out of a corner he said "you shouldn't have been there". Some
years later, we were standing in some parking lot and he leveled "the
look" at me and said, "you (should) never quit racing, you'll die".
He was a hard man and I admired him.
