Related to your post...last summer I was ticketed along with 7 others at the tune of $225 apiece at the very same intersection in North Plains. It was obviously a trap, as the officer sped by us about 400 meters before the intersection, whereupon he hid to watch us roll through the stop sign. During the course of writing 8 citations he explained to all of us that it was a judgement call, that we did not have to actually stop but that he had determined that we did not make sufficient effort to stop. So the best bet is to STOP and put a foot down. As much as I don't like to disrupt the flow of my workout, it's worth the effort.
