To second Steve's comments...I agree that it is so much fun and supportive. I introduced our Canadian cousins and Colorado contingent to McMenamins last night and the spirit of the Alpenrose Challenge came up in conversation. I get used to our local group and take for granted at times, how supportive, friendly, and welcoming our community is. It was great to hear others praise our community. They come to the AVC because of all of these things. They come because it's fun, they come because the crowd is great, they come because it's friendly. One rider joked that it took them 15 minutes to walk to their car parked behind the track, because they were stopped along the way by many folks who wanted to introduce themselves, congratulate them, or in general, just wanted to be a good neighbor. The spirit is contagious and very positive.Charlie did an excellent job of picking up this fun event. Thank you to all the officials, volunteers, announcers, and FANS! I love the crowd. Thank you to everyone up in the stands. We hear you. We know you're there. We feel your vibes. We love it!-Heather VanValkenburg Does this bike make my butt look fast?
