If you look at the relationship between prizes and attendance you will see
that there is minimal correlation. Unfortunately many race organizers spend
much of their limited amount of organizational energy on developing a prize
list when that energy would be better spent on other aspects of putting on a
race that is safe and attractive to potential participants.

Let's eliminate the prize money and find out.

If they aren't showing up for prize money, then there
is no reason to offer it.

If they are...Perhaps we need to change our thinking.

Either way, let's run a season without prize money and
let the racing/courses/promotions determine who shows
up.
