Jesus lord! Please stop this crap. If you live in the 'couv, write the mayor or city council. Otherwise, keep it to yourself.
PS. And most CEO's (for better or worse) were liberal arts majors. And the ones with the engineering degrees ended up getting laid off and rant on the internet.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] government defined
In Political Science, government is defined as the sole legitmate wielder of
force. Or Louis XIV
said on his cannon barrels, "Ultima Ratio Regum."
And you are correct, it is not the government's duty to legislate safety.
But it is the government's duty to protect its citizens from the predations
of the powerful. What started out as a bunch of pretty good ideas, like
"don't poison people's food," got subverted into the millions of "consumer
safety" activities like labeling a box of shotgun shells with "Caution! May
be dangerous." I personally blame the liberal arts majors who couldn't get
jobs and went into government.
