This has been one of my pet peeves. I make a point to stop and talk to the construction crews about the need to state that the bike lane is closed, or that they need to move their signs.

Just a thought for the lawyers out there. Are bicycle lanes considered lanes of traffic? If so, wouldn't they require permits to shut them down, the same as a road? Also, wouldn't the construction crews be opening themselves up to a huge liability if a bicyclist was struck while moving out into traffic because of a sign they placed in the middle of a lane of traffic?

Just some thoughts,
Kevin

On that subject - though the long term closure of 205 has me frustrated too - is the "nonchalant" way construction crews will put their big orange signs in the bike path, forcing me out into the traffic on sometimes very busy streets. Not sure what the solution is, but I've had some close calls as a result.
