I actually do wash my rags in my home washer.
I do wipe the washer down after, but it works fine.
Lot's of soap and hot water.
sort of related, I collect shop rags, those pink ones. I don't buy them, but have a personally policy of picking them up when found and bringing them home to use, I've found them while out riding, and hung them on my bars or cable housing for the rest of the ride.

Wash them in the laundry, then use until dirty, repeat...

Just curious what are people doing out there tto lessen the impact on the waste in their home shop? Garbage, sludge, chemicals etc.
Specifically, I'm wondering what people are doing with greasy rags.
