Meadors, Ivan C
I found a plaid blazer (like something a 50's lounge singer would wear)
while riding
outside of Palm Springs ... I wore it for a while, but it wasn't
aero-dynamic enough
(plus, there was sand in the pockets)!
Something that may be of use which I came across while riding last
Saturday in Hillsboro:
There is a baby stroller and the baby car seat (note: I chose to leave
it there). If anyone
wants it, it can probably still be found in the ditch (more like "over
the bank") about 200 meters
west of the intersection of Susbauer Road and NW Long Road (on the right
side of NW Long Road).

Didn't erikv find some pants last year?
Music CD's almost every ride. I once found 12 disks in one spot.
Last week found a step drill, $36 at Home Depot
Oakley sunglasses
Bundle of (25?) hacksaw blades. Best find ever. Haven't had a dull saw
in 15 years.

Sockets, screwdrivers, pliers, Vise Grips, wrenches, knives, (one was
thrown at me) Coleman multi tool, Leatherman multi tool, bar clamp,
sharp shooter medal, loose change...that's about it.
I'll take the not crashing over $5. anytime.
No one has given me money while I was riding but I have been given beer
and some kind of home made cigarette while cycle touring through
Phoenix.

On the subject of finding things while out riding: what's the
best find you've had? I found a $5 bill (after crashing on wet pave, so
it made up for it, kinda). Another time a wrought iron
fire-poker...little nerve-wracking riding with it down the back of my
jersey (coulda been a body-poker!).
And, not exactly "found:" someone once gave me $50 to give
directions/lead them to a destination...

I actually do wash my rags in my home washer.
I do wipe the washer down after, but it works fine.
Lot's of soap and hot water.
sort of related, I collect shop rags, those pink ones. I don't
buy them, but have a personally policy of picking them up when found
and bringing them home to use, I've found them while out riding, and
hung them on my bars or cable housing for the rest of the ride.

Wash them in the laundry, then use until dirty,
repeat...

Just curious what are people doing out there tto
lessen the impact on the waste in their home shop? Garbage, sludge,
chemicals etc.
Specifically, I'm wondering what people are doing with
greasy rags.
