Nothing dramatic, but a couple of times I've found 4 inch long 3/8 inch bolts that hold the starter motor in place on big block Chevy engines. ( They have some knurling on the upper shaft which makes them readily identifiable. If you've spent many hours under a truck.) They're installed vertically and will fall out if not seriously torqued down.
The point of all this is that there were some big gas-hog vehicles with loose starter motors that announce their situation by chewing up the engagement gear teeth due to mis-alignment. And a subsequent large repair bill.
And yes, I took them home with me. :)
