Compare those two alternatives to the original route
http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=8451 Lap: 1.3-miles, 201-Ft of Climbing.
Both those alternates have a lot more climbing! Could be pretty darn brutal weekday race!

Here are 2 alternate routes that were kindly sent to me earlier:
http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=8444 Lap: 1.6-miles, 401-Ft of climbing
http://veloroutes.org/bikemaps/?route=8446 Lap: 1.9-miles, 309-Ft of climbing
I am thinking of mixing it up this year--maybe we do different routes, twice each, over six races? Have to see what the Parks Dept. says.

Seems like there's a couple possible loops looking at it from the google map. I say the more technical, the better. Please keep it on the road, this "let's pretend we're belgian" thing can stay on the cross course, as far as I'm concerned ;)

Great idea. The Parks Dept., however, is very strict about usage at Mt Tabor. I feel confident in saying that this would never fly.
I did receive some useful suggestions from other list members, thank you. I really don't think construction will be an issue, but you never know... this is all very much plan "B" planning.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] River City Bicycles Mt Tabor Series Update
Hi everyone,
The Mt Tabor Series is gearing up for another year. River City Bicycles has stepped up, once again, to be the title sponsor. Thank you, River City.
However, I just learned that the Water Bureau is prepping for a Reservoir Replacement Project. They plan to upgrade cameras and poles, install alarms, microphone sensors, repair windows and walkways, etc. This project might affect our route and the Parks Dept. is encouraging me to think of alternative routes. Given the limited pavement around Mt Tabor, I honestly don't know of many other options.
The Water Bureau is reviewing the construction schedule and will let me know as soon as possible which areas will be affected. I'll post more when I know more.

Thank you.
