That is just amazing! Last week I was looking at the snow on the coast range (what is it like right now at the upper elevations of the mudslinger?) while up on Skyline Blvd. and thinking about what Bear Springs might be like. Tonkin had told me a couple of weeks ago that Petr had told him there was about four feet of snow in the Bear Springs area. I had been thinking that the ongoing moisture and low snow levels were NOT allowing that four feet of snow to melt. It is very nice that the promoters and land managers could work together to make the needed changes to keep the races "on" instead of needing to cancel one. Good job to all.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] MTB race date change-----important
Hello,
Attention----------Do to Huge Snow packs at Bear Springs Kevin has moved his date of the
Falls City Firecracker to June 1st
to allow Petr to move
Bear Springs Trap to May 18th for the XC and the 17th for the short Track.
We just got this accomplished with both Black Rock and the forest service over the last 10 days and thank you Kevin and Black Rock for being flexible. I think this makes the series more interesting as well with less of a gap in between races. Ben will update www.oregonxcseries.org site.
Thanks and spread the word----we don't want anyone driving up to Bear Springs later this month.
Mike Ripley
Oregon XC Series Director
