Curious: does anyone else out there rebuild their eggbeaters? I only
have the cheap (~$90) ones, have 5 pair and have never had a problem...
ride them hard all year, in horrible weather, wet/dry/dust/mud/grit and
rebuild them whenever they start to feel a little loose. I think the
kits are about $7. After the rebuild, they really do feel as solid as
new.
FWIW, to clarify my earlier comment: intent is *everything*. I don't in
any way advocate lawsuits unless there has been a coverup, or a blatant
choice to put $$ above human life -- in these instances, a line has
been crossed that none of us wants crossed, and unfortunately the only
way to motivate some people to "do the right thing" is to make it
overly painful for them to "do the wrong thing." Certainly not optimal,
but it is what it is.
