I should point out that next weekend's Masters Track Championship will have
categories in 5 year age increments from 30 up. The flyer says up to 55+
but if there are sufficient numbers there will be separate races for even
higher age groups. This is not only for the timed events but also for
sprints and points races. In addition, you don't even need to own a track
bike as we will rent you one. Also, this event includes a catered barbeque.
Masters should show their support for this by coming out to race.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] older Masters participation in races..attn:
raceorganizers
You've all heard it before from me: That there is enough interest amongst
older Masters racers to warrant perhaps including some specific classes for
us along with your 'traditional' category classes and the somewhat limited
current Masters offerings.
I was interested in seeing the 60+ Masters start list for the OBRA
Hillclimb event tommorrow is one of the largest in the whole field. I got
curious and compiled some informal stats from the few OBRA events this
season where age categories were offered.
At the OBRA HC chamionship tommorrow, there are 29 entrants in the 50+ to
60+ classes.
At the OBRA TT championship there were 45 entrants in the 50+ to 65+
classes.
Even Larch Mt. (OUCH) had ~20 older Masters >50+
So please, you organizers..think of us when you plan your races for the
next season and give us a chance to do some wheel to wheel racing amongst
ourselves rather than just "tacking us on" as a "scored seperatly". And you
older racers..keep asking..it seems there are a lot of us..maybe they will
listen to our requests..
