Not everyone has a 53 up front. I've got a 50 right now, and 50x11 is
a nice gear to have sometimes. I was on a fast ride yesterday where I
was certainly glad to have it, and I would say I'm a spinner.
Also, if you have an 11, your peers will give you cool nicknames like
"El Once." Nobody wants to be El Doce, or even worse, "Le Douze."
