There was a recent thread on OBRA just a few weeks ago regarding this type
of failure being fairly common with these pedals. I do know I've seen quite
a few broken Crank Brothers pedals at 'cross races--purely observation on my
part, but I think they're the only type of pedal I've ever seen come apart
mid-race. I personally know half a dozen OBRA-ites who've had this happen,
at least one of whom has had it happen twice during 'cross races.

I love Time ATACs myself.
