2002 OREGON CYCLING CONFERENCE   (Coming Soon)

The third edition of the northwest's only event of it's kind...

actually, the only event of it's kind in the country. For one day in

the middle of the winter, right here in puddletown you get to sit at

the feet of some of the finest coaches in North America and soak up

what you can from about twenty guys and girls that have among them a

couple of centuries of racing experience at national and world level

competition. The most authoritative voices in coaching in the US and

Canada will be here to help you become a better rider and a more

effective racer. They'll be here to answer those questions that

no-one ever puts in the cycling magazines.

This spring's conference is the third of the series, and while it

might not make you a bit faster this spring (note: some assembly

required), it will cure seasonal depression in many cyclists.

Some of the most popular speakers from past years, Kendra and Rene

Wenzel, Erik Moen, Tim Rutledge... will be back, along with several

more top coaches from the Northwest and around the country. Ed Burke

and Sean Wilson, have promised to make it this year (both cancelled

at the last minute last year). Dan Proulx, a Canadian junior coach,

Renee Duprel, and Kenny Williams, both top coaches (and riders) from

Seattle along with many of the really fine local coaches yu see all

the time and never have time to talk with... Sam Callan, the Sport

Science and Education manager from Colorado Springs will be here, and

will conduct an expert coach clinic following the OBRA event.

Some of the best known and best respected coaches and authors of

professional coaching articles in Velonews, Performance Conditioning

for Cycling, and elsewhere will be right here. Over twenty

authoritative voices that can help you get off to the best season

you've ever had.

This year the conference will be all day Saturday the 19th of

January. Sign-in will be from 7AM to 8AM, and the first session will

begin at 8. There will be opportunities for race organizers,

officials, and club coaches. The OBRA general meeting will be before

the banquet in the evening. The annual Banquet that evening will as

usual feature the best of the year in photography, OBRA's annual

awards, and possibly a word or two from some of our favorite people.

Oh, and be sure to hang in there for:

                       1. the dessert, and

                       2. the drawing (remember last year?)

Cost:     $30 for the conference (only);

              $20 for the banquet (only);

...but if you REALLY want a great day and a great deal too,

for only $40.00, you can get the Conference AND the Banquet.

It will again be held at the Multnomah Athletic Club, (in Portland),

and will again feature the great food from the MAC's kitchens.

Get ready for a whiz-bang start to the 2001 cycling season. It's in

less than two weeks! preregister NOW!

To preregister, get the flyer from the events list on the OBRA

website, and mail it into the MAC.
