+1 on SPD's. I have, like, 8 pairs of different models on road, cross, and
mountain bikes. I've only, truly, worn out one pair, and I have never had a
mechanical caused by a Shimano pedal. And I'm cheap - I buy all mine used.
Like Ron said about the Time ATACs - spray and ride. I know folks rave about
their ATAC's, and if I wasn't so locked in (so to speak) to my SPD's I'd
consider switching to those. But I've heard and seen enough stories about CB
pedals literally falling apart or the bearings seizing and the pedal coming
unscrewed mid-race, that I have no interest in them.
