So I took the survey. I wish there had been a comments section at the end. My number one obstacle (challenge? balancing act?) to attending races is getting someone to watch my two children in an economical fashion for the duration of the event plus travel time. I only have so many resources in that regard -- money, child care availability, family good will -- and I need to use them wisely. That's an important aspect of cross for me. The compact season helps out quite a bit and the late September to early December schedule keeps it manageable for me.
