Actually, Steve will have a bit tougher time racing this season as it is

tough to race a bike (not to mention make what would otherwise be an

"unaggresive race") with your foot stuck in your mouth :)



See ya at Cherry Pie on February 17th, Steve! (the first road race of the

year)



Not to mention "La Doyenne" aka THE WORLD FAMOUS KINGS VALLEY ROAD RACE on

Saturday April 6th!

Steve (Scarich) bought his first racing bike in 1970 which he used for cross training

for running. At that time he trained with many National Team Members in the Berkeley Bike Club. He entered his first bike race in 1984 and has been racing for the Hutch's Paramount Cycling Team since 1989.    



He has been very successful in his racing with over 100 Masters racing victories, including many times State Road, Time Trial and Criterium Champion. He also has the following National Masters Championship placings:

7th Place National Masters Road Race - 1994

4th Place National Masters Track-pursuit-1994

2nd Place National Masters Road Race - 1998

Steve says that he has Road Raced, Time Trialed, Pursuited, Track Sprinted, Tandem Raced, Mountain Bike Raced and he loves it all. He was certified by USA Cycling in 1997 as an Elite Level Cycling Coach.

BTW, some of you have confused me with this guy...boy am I flattered...rest assured, I'm not worthy.
