I think you missed his point. Hi scomments were about the logetivity of
Jeanne Longo racing Career. Shes been at it since Lance was sucking down
Fudgecicles and watching the Smurfs on Saturday Morning.

Both racers are pretty amazing for what they have achived, I too was amazed
to see Jeanne racing at Mt Hood. At 50 She is old enough to be the Mother of
the entire pro peloton. She was not sitting in and lord knows she was not
collecting much of a paycheck.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Jeannie Longo (born October 31, 1958) is a female French racing cyclist,
multiple (55 times) French and world champion. Longo is still active in
cycling as of 2008 and is widely considered one of the greatest female
cyclists of all time. She is famous for her competitive nature and her
longevity in a sport where some of her competitors were not yet born during
her first Olympic competition in 1984. She was selected to compete for
France in the 2008 Olympics, her seventh Olympic Games.[1] She has stated
that this will be her final participation in the Olympics.[2] In the Women's
road race, she finished 24th, 33 seconds behind winner Nicole Cooke, who was
one year old when Longo first rode in the Olympics. [3] At the same
Olympics, she finished 4th in the road time trial, just two seconds shy of
securing bronze medal.[4]

I would hardly say that Lance has been sitting on his ass in front of a TV,
gnawing on a
fudgesicle and watching Saturday morning cartoons these past years! Can you
say CANCER??

Granted he's been in some high profile romances, but if it were low key the
press would still make a big deal about it...I agree that some people have
too much time on their hands if they feel the need to badmouth others,
regardless of whether or not they're famous!

Maybe he wins, maybe he doesn't...but in the long run, getting off YOUR ass
and helping society is more important!!

Who's this Lance person that seems to be attracting so much
attention?

Back in May I noticed a distinct lack of buzz on the OBRA list when

Jeannie Longo-Ciprelli showed up for the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic.
This was like Madonna dropping in on a PDX music festival. Jeannie
was kicking ass when Lance was on his in front of a TV, gnawing on a

fudgesicle and watching saturday morning cartoons. Lance "retired"
and is now deciding to come back. Jeannie never left and never
stopped kicking ass. There are other pro cyclists that have actively

done more for the sport of cycling, for cycling as transportation,
and for society in general, than Lance Armstrong has. His major
contribution seems to be star-dom and the concomitant "reality
distortion field".

Sure, I suppose that it's good that Lance's presence may equal good

things for the bicycle business, but...

I'm in Jeannie's posse.
