The Nike Cycling Development Camp Encourages Cyclists to Get Out and Enjoy the Weather with Legends of Cycling, February 16, 2002



(OBRA (www.obra.org <http://www.obra.org/>) - January 9, 2002) The inaugural Legends of Cycling Benefit Ride will kick off no matter what the weather may bring on February 16 at Hagg Lake in Forest Grove, Oregon. The ride, which is open to cyclists of all abilities will roll out at 1pm with cyclists divided into groups according to ability and distance covered (11 to 66 mile options). The setting will be the 11 mile rolling scenic loop around beautiful Hagg Lake on low-traffic roads.



Refreshments and full support will be provided, including roaming mechanics from the Bike Gallery. The Legends of Cycling themselves will ride and coach participants along with assistance from local racing teams, including Team Bike Gallery, Team Rose City, and Logie Velo. The Trek demo van will also be present to enable participants to test the latest in lightweight road bikes from the premier bike company in the U.S.



Participation costs $25. Registration forms can be found at www.obra.org. Registration fee is $25 with net proceeds benefiting the Lance Armstrong Foundation (www.laf.org <http://www.laf.org/>) and Bicycles and Ideas for Kids Empowerment (www.kidsofbike.org), an Oregon non-profit dedicated to getting inner city kids on bikes.
