BECAUSE.... the larger sticker that would cover all the excess adhesive that is exposed when old sticker is removed... goes on the back of license not the front. The small bar code sticker goes on front, leaving most of the old adhesive exposed to collect just about anything that will stick. I learned the hard way by putting the sticker in the wrong place at first, then later having to remove the adhesive on front. It is not that hard... just use an adhesive remover (if stubborn a single edge razor blade provides some mechanical assistance) and dishwashing soap to clean it up, rinse... slap on the new stickers.

Maybe it's just me, but this seems ridiculous. What's wrong with just slapping the new sticker on where the old one came off?

1.. Physically remove sticker.
2.. Use Goof Off to soften sticker residue.
3.. Use Goo Gone to remove Goof Off residue.
4.. Wash with soap to remove Goo Gone residue.
5.. Apply new sticker.

YMMV

Well, I took my old clear sticker of the OBRA card, I am having a hard time getting the residue off of the card. I tried rubbing alcohol with a cloth and with one of those teflon pot scrubbers, and neither really does it. The residue seems hard, though, rather than sticky, and the bar code sticker will probably stick to it.

Has anyone had the same problem and fixed it?

Is the problem with the residue that it keeps the card from scanning? In that case, I guess I better do something about it. If, however, it's how to make the card nicer for the member to handle, maybe I can just ignore it for a while. Does anyone know if it's an issue for scanning, or whatever we are doing at races with the cards this season?
