My name is Wes Stein, a member of the Hammer/ CMG Racing Team. I am the rider who removed his jacket during the Banana Belt Cat. 1/2 race. First I want to apologize to anyone who may have suffered any damages as a result of the crash. I tried to remove the jacket as safely as possible by moving away from the pack toward the left side of the road before shedding my garments. However in the process of removing the jacket someone came up from behind me to pass and clipped my handlebars. This caused me to lose control of my bike and crash which also caused several riders to fall.

I recognize that I am at fault for making a poor decision on where and when to remove my wind vest and regret the consequence. Again I apologize to all who were affected by my actions.
