Re: Should I try track?

Riding the track is the most fun you can have on a bicycle, IMHO. I live in Eugene and when I was racing I made the trip up to Alpenrose several times for Fast Twitch Fridays. If I live in PDX, I'd be there all the time. I got eaten alive and totally embarrassed myself, but I didn't cause any crashes and I had way more fun than this old body deserves.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Should I try track?

Having just read the top 10 reasons to ride track I began to wonder:
Is track for me?

I'm 38 and pretty much just mid-pack filler, I don't road-race (tried it and didn't like it) but track seems kinds fun. Like CX but without the getting off and running and the mud and stuff.

Or would I just get eaten alive/cause horrible crashes/embarrass myself/not have any fun?

What do you think? Any track newbies out there?
