I wonder if BG needs to "pay" to send to SPLAFF? If not I wonder if they could make arrangement with them to allow the cycling community to bring tires/tubes to a central location for a one time drop and then send them on in. It would be similar to what KGW does with the paper shredding company. I do not want to put BG in a situation that is not possible as I believe they a company that already does a huge amount of positive work for all of us cyclists both on and off road. If they could pull off something like this even with a small charge (small enough to motivate people to not just throw them in the trash) that would be positive as well. Maybe BTA could do it. Heck I just think it would be a neat idea and good if it had some media attention for whoever did it. If the turnout of tires being recycled was huge, it would be good PR for cyclists.

I know that Bke Gallery sends their old tubes and tires to SPLAFF, a company that makes belts and shoes with old rubber. Maybe BG would take it.
