Excellent idea! Would even suggest (slightly) raising the cost to enter and include a t-shirt for each entrant.

I enjoy a nice souvenir for my efforts (e.g. Cherry Pie Road Race, Mudslinger, Salem Fairview Circuit Race, etc) and certainly don't mind proudly displaying some of the generous sponsors on the back!
