And congratulations to Oregonians Tom Letsinger and George Thomas for their win in the 2-person team category at Race Across the West (RAW), which is the first third of RAAM (Oceanside to Taos).  1044 miles in 2 days, 10 hours, 56 minutes.  Tom came to RAW by way of the 8-day Trans Portugal mountain bike race the week before (he finished 9th overall), and George is now officiating "the front" of the race for RAAM (currently in Ohio) and will be the finish line announcer.  George comes home to put on (with co-promoter Terri Gooch) the most epic Race Across Oregon starting July 11 in Hood River.  Congrats to Tom and George and their devoted support crew!  -Martha

If you didn't know Jeff Bannink is on the Team Type 1 team that is doing RAAM. Their goal is to break the team record for the race- which they are on pace to do.
