Plan is to keep the same program. This will not be a business,
article clearly states that. The track is the cheapest part of any
indoor velodrome project. The goal is to run it as it it run now.
But please keep in mind that race fees, volunteers the dairy and
sponsors, pay for the program, it is not free.
As I have mentioned before, elite programs are great for one or two
days a year. Alpenrose has about the most vibrant track program in
the country and it serves all. Last week was the Six Day, next week
the AVC. The whole idea is to create the lowest cost public use of a
building that does not have a current viable commercial use. We are
not talking about creating a temple. Just putting a simple wood
track in the existing floor plan and bringing the program along for
the fun.
