Re: A new velodrome inside Memorial Coliseum?

Is there any possibility of adding an indoor running track to the velodrome?
The dimensions seem similar if it is a 200 meter track. The corner banking
is different but I'm sure someone clever could figure out a solution.

We are sure to get more support if you include running.

i will let Steve Brown address details because it's his idea..

...but I know Steve and his main impetus for this is to broaden track racing
for the community... he is absolutely not the type of guy who's going to
make this some sort of elite track. Steve wants to keep the OBRA vibe of
openness and free access.

and as for running it like a business... i hope it is. meaning that, it
needs to be run like a business for it to be sustainable.

but to step back for a minute... we are very early on with this.. it's just
an idea.

Luciano poses an interesting question; elite vs. non-elite.

More questions:

Alpenrose is pretty much free as far as I can tell. Will this new shiny
velodrome in the heart of Portland be free as well?

Will someone just give it to us?

Will someone be running it as a business?

It is a great idea and one I have personally lead the parade for the last
decade what is still in question is why we want a velodrome in Memorial. If
it is to serve only as an elite venue (ADT) center LA than I say ney, if
this would bring back the spirit of 1904 Madison Square Garden then bring it
on.
