Re: Comcast and the TdF - no spoiler

Not sure if anyone else has experienced this, but beginning yesterday
Comcast began scrambling several HD channels that HDTV owners could get for
free. We had basic service and could get a large number of "free" HD
channels as incidentals. VS was one of many (CNN, ESPN, it goes on). Comcast
informed me that they have begun scrambling those channels and there are
more to come. To correct this, we have to upgrade our service and buy the
next package, really disappointing. Seems like a racket. Are there any other
alternatives to upgrading the service and getting free HD channels?

FYI - this is the first year that the Tour broadcast has been able to
insert local advertising. Prior to this year there was no technical
support for anything other than the network feed spots. Sounds like the
issues some of you are experiencing stem from this change.

That's the story I heard from my sponsor at the time we were filming our
ads to run during this period. Hopefully our ads don't spoil anyones
coverage here in Bend!
