Hello all OBRA members.
I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I just wanted to let everyone know that there will be a new stage race for 2003 out in Hood River, Oregon May 29-June 1. The Mt. Hood Cycling Classic will be a great opportunity for riders to test their fitness, stamina, and skill. $10,000 cash prize purse (plus merchandise), numerous rider goodies, event expo, huge post race celebration/awards ceremony, and some amazing roads to race. Lodging is limited so please book now to assure that you have a place to stay. Your best bet for lodging is Cooper Spur Mountain Resort were the race headquarters will be located along with the start and finishes for stage 2 and 5. Be sure to mention that you are making reservations for the race because the Resort will only be allowing racers and their families/friends to stay during the event. Your next best bet is the Best Western Hood River Inn. Located in downtown Hood River and less than a mile from stages 1, 3, and 4. Again please mention that you are in for the race as they are booked for that weekend except for a block of rooms reserved for the race. Check out our web site for all the information on the race and lodging at www.mthoodcyclingclassic.com, plus downloadable registration forms, race bible, etc. On line registration will be available by January 15th. I hope to see all of you at the starting line.
