Rule Changes - Age Limits

First is the OBRA rules on the OBRA web site the current rules?

If so, I currently see no rule about how the Championships are suppose to be run. I only see a rule that mentions a "state" championships and says it will be designated by an OBRA admin.

Further I did not even see a single mention of the word masters or any mention of the min age for masters, or juniors for that matter with the exception of Junior Trials. Maybe I missed it, but technically any promoter can run any events for anyone they want based on what I see. Heck we could have Masters 26 and 38 days plus race and Juniors under 33 category if we really wanted.

So it would seem that for us to add a rule about masters ages for championships we might have to mention that masters exist at all. Not to mention that perceived rule that if you dont mention a masters category it is a 30 plus event. While I like that rule, it is not actually mentioned either. So really anything dealing with Juniors and Masters is 100% up to the official and promoter of the race. There is no default or standard to go by.

So it sounds like someone needs to write up a few basic rules if we want to do anything at all. My guess is that this will all blow over as none of us will take the time to write them down. We will just wait an complain at the next event we dont like :)

My preference if someone takes the time is present the rules as a standard and always mention the rule of the promoter and Chief Official may modify these rules if stated in a flyer before the event.
