I was on the training ride when I came upon Ivan Meadors laying on the

ground in pain (helpless). I was immediately searching for the owner. I

asked the woman who had given horse blankets to Ivan to keep him warm while

waiting for the ambulance. Where do these dogs live? She said, which dogs?

I said a gray haired shepherd dog and a black dog. She pointed across the

street to a brown house and WARNED me be careful because they can be

aggressive. I walked across the street and 2 dogs were on a porch in the

back and immediately started barking at me but also ran off the porch in

fear. I started BANGING on the glass porch door that was locked because

there was no door bell. A man appeared out of another door right in front

of me with no shirt on. "Can I help you"? I said yeah. Your dogs have

caused a cyclist to go down and he is lying here in pain with a broken

collar bone. He said "I'll be right there". Ten minutes later he emerges

and he says. "They normally don't cross the road". "I can't believe they

crossed the road". They get a whoopin every time they cross that road.

That's where I am angry......how in the world does he know what they do when

he is still in bed and they are out roaming the country????? Just

like.....oh he would never bite you he would never hurt anyone. Dogs are

NOT predictable.......and he also said (after seeing 20 more cyclists pass

by) (G.S. Camerati Team) well there is a lot of activity this morning and

maybe that got his attention. SOMEONE NEEDS A WAKE UP CALL as to the

responsibility of pets and their owners. He did give Ivan his Name, Drivers

License #, address, home and work phone.
