It has always been my thought that you can only sprint for points if you
are
on the same lap. Once you get dropped you keep your points but can no
longer sprint with the group and must hang out at the back.
I see nothing wrong with this and as long as people don't sit out and then
sprint again there isn't a problem. Of course the enforcing of the rules
has to come from the riders as even if we said zero points for not
finishing
and the pack at 70-100 riders at times who could tell if a rider finished
or
not. Basically then only riders in contention would be spotted and minor
riders would likely get away with it, maybe that is ok.
Basically I have no problem with riders keeping there points when dropped,
that is why the finish is worth so much more. Just be honest and do not
sprint or lead out your teammates at the end. I guess having an official
car would not be that bad, but would require extra effort for just a
tuesday
training race.
just my 2 cents
Jamie
