I?d like to introduce a new women?s cycling club called Sorella Forte

(Italian for Strong Sister). The club is open to all women who share a

passion for riding their bike. Within the club we have a racing team of 10

women and a recreational group currently 21 members strong (and growing).



Club Programs and Goals

Race Mentoring Program ? Drawing upon the experience of its members and

other local and regional cyclists, Sorella Forte will mentor and foster both

individual and team goals by giving team members support and access to

training and racing information.



Recreational mentoring program ? Sorella Forte will reach out to individuals

new to the sport of cycling and offer information, guidance and experience

to help improve the abilities and confidence of recreational riders. Sorella

Forte aims to support and provide inspiration to non-competitive cyclists

who are interested in obtaining health and fitness, and experiencing fun and

camaraderie through cycling.



Team Racing Program ? Sorella Forte plans to be a new and significant

presence in regional competitive cycling. Sorella Forte brings together a

group of athletes that were previously scattered throughout 8 different

local teams and provides them with a common dedicated mission. Sorella Forte

plans to implement team cycling tactics in a way not typically experienced

in regional races for women. By setting the example of team oriented

cycling, Sorella Forte hopes to increase the awareness and visibility of

women?s cycling in the region. In an area where cycling enjoys a great deal

of participation and popularity, women?s competitive cycling is

disproportionately attended.



Fund Raising Program ? Sorella Forte will participate in a local event to

raise money for a local women?s charity.
