Eric, while your premise is true, the experience is that that
particular configuration is very subject to spokes "working" under
load... the result is that spokes loosen quickly and
catastrophically... and they might have a higher than usual rate of
spoke failure at the hub end (although that part is anacdotal and I
can't confirm it).
The best builders, when asked for a dished rear that has better
lateral stability will build a three cross on the drive side and a
one or two cross on the left side... and sometimes with a lighter
spoke on that side.
