Madison practice

Due to popular demand and because of special requests and the need for
practice before the Six Day which starts this coming Monday there will be
not just one but TWO Madison practices this coming Sunday, June 11. The
first will be at 1:00 PM. The second will be at 5:00 PM. There will be
experienced Madison riders at both sessions. Rental bikes, for those that
need them, will only be available at the 5:00 PM session. No charge for the
practice session but rental bikes will be the usual $5. You don't need a
partner, we will match you up. In fact, this might be a good way to find a
partner and/or practice with your partner for the Six. All are welcome. We
can teach just about anyone to do a hand sling. Let me know if you have any
questions.

If the weather cooperates, we will have Madison practice at the velodrome

this coming Tuesday and Thursday at noon

In preparation for the upcoming Six Day I would like to get people together

to do a Madison practice and instructional season this coming Sunday, 5/29,

at 6:00 PM. If we can get a few people together this will be a good time to

practice and learn. We will match up teams at the track. Let me know if

you will be coming so I have some idea about turn out. Rental bikes can be

made available if needed.

On the off chance that it won't rain and to get ready for the Six Day we are

going to have a Madison practice session at the Alpenrose Velodrome this

Saturday, 6/5, at 3:00 PM. Anyone welcome. We will match people with

partners. If you have not ridden Madison we will show you how.

Oops! As several people pointed out I forgot to say which day. I meant

Sunday.

Since this weekend's events will once again be difficult for the gravity

challenged I thought it would be good to schedule another Madison practice

session in preparation for the Six Day which starts in less than 2 weeks,

6/23.

10:00 AM at Alpenrose. let me know if you will be there.

Given that Saturday's race may not interest those of us who are gravity

challenged I have been thinking that it might be good to have a Madison

practice session at the velodrome that day. Let me know if enough people

are interested. Maybe we could start about noon or so? Let me know if you

are coming.

We will be doing a Madison practice session this Friday at noon at Alpenrose

to prepare for this weekend's Madison State Championships and for next

week's Six Day. If anyone is interested, be there. This will be low key

and if you have never done a Madison sling but would like to learn feel free

to come on out.

This Wednesday there will be a group set aside to practice madison exchanges

and go over the finer points of the race. If you have thought about trying a

madison this is a good way to practice with some seasoned racers in a non

competitive situation. We will go over the race, timing your exchange, how

to throw, what not to do, and hopefully how not to fall down. Come on out if

you are interested.

thanks

There will be no racing at Alpenrose this coming Thursday, 7/27, but it

would make a good time to do a Madison practice. Anyone who his interested

should show up around 6:30 PM. Don't worry if you don't have a partner, we

will match people up at the track. Plan to hike or ride in from the gate

since you will not be able to get back to park by the track because of the

1/4 midget car race. If you are planning an going please send me a note so

I can get an idea of how many people will be there.

I have been approached by several people about putting together some time to

do an instructional/practice session on Madison riding at the velodrome. I

think that this is important, particularly with the Six Day coming up.

Scheduling is difficult though since there is something going on every

weekday and most weekends. Yesterday Scott Harman suggested we do something

during the day. Works for me. How about a 12 noon session on Tuesday 7/18?

If you are interested and available send me a note.
