JIM TREVISO MEMORIAL TOUR ON SATURDAY JULY 29TH

Did you have fun at Big Fat Tour last year or any other years before? Well,

here comes Paul Promisberg with another one. Only the daylight hours are

longer. The goal is still the same: to give you an

awesome,................. experience. At the end you won't be in Bend but

in Mt.Hood National Forest area camping (or going home after filling up

with gourmet food if you don't like to camp).

Three levels are offered: - 55 Miles tour will start at 15 Miles

Campground (east side

of Mt.Hood about 5 Miles of Rd 44 (HWY 35 and Dufur connection) starting as

Forest Service (FS) Rd 4420 and turning into FS Rd 2730 - limiting parking

available), mostly single track ride with 6,000` climbing and 7,000`

descending.

- 35 Miles tour will start at Bennett pass on HWY 35 and takes

you through Boulder Creek trail #464 to follow our tired group in their

adventures. 2 aid stations provided.

- 19 Miles   tour will start at Bennett pass on HWY 35 and

leaves out some trail mileage from previous group before following them on

newly reconstructed Rim rock trail to Clear Creek Crossing Campground.

All tours will finish about the same time on Bear Springs Ranger District

(at Clear Creek Crossing Campground). We will shuttle you in 15 passenger

vans with trailer for bikes from the camping site at 7am, 10am or 11:30am

to start or less preferably shuttle you back to your car after the tour.

Start times: 8am - 55 Miles tour (get ready for beauty) at 15 Miles

Campground

11am - 35 Miles tour at Bennett Pass

12.30pm - 19 Miles tour at Bennett Pass

Cost: $30 will get you coffee, snacks, guides, survival map, gourmet food

at all aid stations, Cliffbars, Jog mates chocolates, drinks, music,

campfire and especially yummy dinner prepared by European chef from Cascade

Restaurant.

Unpunctual registration add $5 at Skibowl: July 28th: 6pm - 10pm at Cascade

Restaurant      (Multopor Lodge - follow Skibowl East signs from Gov`t

Camp, great chance to load up before a long ride for about $20 incl.

European beer

selection).

                                                                       July

29th: 6am - 10am Skibowl Ski School - West parking lot

Send registration to: Hurricane Racing

                                   P.O.Box 320

                                   Government Camp

                                   Oregon, 97028-0320

ZIP:............. Circle one:     55    or    35    or     19      Miles

Emerg. name/number:...........................

Emergency assistance: Lead and Sweep guides will have radios and there will

also be cell phones at the aid stations (wherever signal is available).

Route marking: The routes are marked with pink ribbon. If the route is

going to make a left turn you will see two ribbons close together on the

left and after you make the left turn you will see two more ribbons. If the

route is going to make a right turn you will see two ribbons close together

on the right and after you make the right turn you will see two more

ribbons. At a four-way intersection where the route continues straight you

may see two ribbons after the intersection. Keep your eyes peeled!

Guides: There will be a lead and sweep guide on each of routes. They will

group up riders after the first climb/descent. For example: The first 15

riders to the top of the first climb/descent will group with the lead rider

and the second 15 riders will group with a sweep guide. In this way it is

possible to ride with riders of similar ability, faster riders don't wait,

as long and casual riders will get due rest time. If you pass the lead

guide you are on your own. Sweep guides are the last riders on the course

so they can direct you to a bail out point if needed.

Aid stations: Will be 3 for 55 Miles, 2 for 35 Miles and 1 + start for 19

Miles tour.

Time cut off: There will be cut off times set to guarantee everyone timely

arrival at Clear Creek Crossing Campground. There will be pick up point at

all aid stations.

The finish: Camping area at Clear Creek Crossing Campground on FS Rd

2130(paved) starting on HWY 216 about 2 Miles East of Bear Spring Ranger

station. Don't forget   your NW Trailhead pass available at all ranger

stations or Info centers if you plan on arriving on Friday and camping over

night. Have your appetite ready and your voice dialed for campfire site

singing. Beer, food, music and campsite will be provided. Additional meal

will be available for non-rider, family or friends for $10. Let us know

early so we can do a good job this gourmet dinner as we are in remote

location. You need to bring your sleeping needs, water and veggies if you

don't eat meat. Only dry camping will be available (we are bringing ample

water supply, creek is available also, but showers are not).

Mc.Cubbins Gulch is a beautiful area and you will have chance to discover

it for yourself on Sunday if you choose to do so.
