Thanks for all the replies :) The overwhelming response was "stick with Cat
4/5", which is fine with me, as that's where my friends are anyhow, and the
fact that I'd have to wait another week to race Masters, but I can race Cat
5 *tonight*! Instant gratification, baby! :)
See you folks out there tonight... I'll be the guy on the red Bottechia
getting dropped/lapped. :)

The 30-39s are Cats 1-5 older than 30. Typically the pack is smaller than
the 4-5 pack, so there is less shelter. Because of the disparity, often the
pack splits, though not always. What does all this mean? In my own
experience, the 30-39 race is harder than the 4-5 race. Your experience may
be different.
