eggbeater spring problems

Yes, Matt. I've had the same. I'm big, but usually don't break stuff. Do love my Crank Bros though. I've had the same issues you have, lately.

In my case, I bought bargains, and found out after they broke CB couldn't rebuild them. Apparently there are cheaply built versions and that was why I got such a "bargain".

They had a good trade-up deal so I did that, and noticed the new ones come with "new and improved" springs. Don't know what exactly they had to fix, but I think we know WHY they fixed 'em.

Zero breakage on the new ones so far.

I've broken one on a regular set of egg beaters, some candy's and this morning one snapped on a quattro road pedal. I'm obviously invested a bit I have a bunch of them and I like em but I'm curious if anyone else has had this problem? I've changed cleats do I don't think its a worn cleat causing the problem, I do hammer on them but we race bikes that is the point right?

Heya,

I keep breaking the spring on my non-drive train side. I've had 3
pedals fail in the same place and at this point I think it's gotta be
something I am doing. I've broken one on a regular set of egg beaters,
some candy's and this morning one snapped on a quattro road pedal. I'm
obviously invested a bit I have a bunch of them and I like em but I'm
curious if anyone else has had this problem? I've changed cleats do I
don't think its a worn cleat causing the problem, I do hammer on them
but we race bikes that is the point right?
