Verde (http://www.verdenw.org/) is a non-profit focused on sustainable
community economic development and empowering the historically
environmentally and economically marginalized, culturally diverse and
underserved NE Cully community. Verde, as part of their larger "Living
Cully: A Cully Ecodistrict" and bike share project, is seeking tax
deductible donations for child bike trailers for women and families in the
community participating in its group ride. The ride teaches the rules of
the road and best bike routes, encourages sustainable transportation and
exercise, fosters community and promotes equitable policies in Portland and
Oregon's growing bike economy. The rides have been a success, but the
women would like to bring their children on the rides as well for bonding
experiences and childcare purposes.
